Considering new work that endures
We consider a limited number of projects aligned with the Crescent Standard
Submissions at Crescent & Quill
Crescent & Quill reviews submissions on a selective basis. We are interested in work that demonstrates clarity of voice, structural coherence, and a clear relationship to its intended reader.
All submissions are evaluated according to the Crescent Standard, which guides our publishing decisions and editorial practice. We publish a focused list each year and review submissions with care and deliberation.
We encourage prospective authors and creators to familiarize themselves with our publishing approach and editorial standards before submitting work.
-
We consider submissions across the following areas:
Business and idea-driven nonfiction
Narrative nonfiction
Fiction and mystery
Practical nonfiction
Children’s books and graphic storytelling
We are open to projects that do not fit neatly within categories, provided they align with our editorial approach.
We do not consider:
Unfinished manuscripts without a clear proposal
Projects written primarily for promotional purposes
Work that does not demonstrate editorial readiness
-
Submissions should include the following materials:
A brief cover letter introducing the project
A project overview or proposal
Author or creator background
Sample material or a completed manuscript, as appropriate
Please reach out to us via the Contact form for instructions on how to submit materials electronically. We do not accept unsolicited physical submissions.
-
Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Due to volume, we are able to respond only to submissions that advance to further consideration.
Response times vary depending on the nature of the project and our current review cycle. We ask that authors refrain from follow-up inquiries unless requested.
Submission of materials does not imply an offer of publication. Publishing decisions are made independently and in alignment with the Crescent Standard.
